Announces Campaign for Georgia State House District 28
Local Christian Conservative Leader Wants Government to Run More Like Business
Cumming, GA – Brent Cox, a longtime, local businessman and lifelong Georgian, officially announced his intentions to run in the May 24, 2022 Republican primary for Georgia State House District 28. The new District 28 is comprised of portions of Forsyth and Hall counties.
Cox stated, “After thoughtful consideration, I’m excited to announce I’m running for State House. I’ve proudly called Forsyth County home for decades and have enjoyed raising my family, growing my business, coaching football, and teaching here. Our community and its people are incredible. They deserve a strong leader who will fight for them in the legislature. I look forward to this campaign and sharing my conservative vision for the future.”
“Guided by conservative, common-sense principles, I aim to make our state government work more like a business and make the tough decisions. For example, in the face of unprecedented growth in our area, I am committed to working with other business and civic leaders to develop a comprehensive and cost-effective growth plan for the next 10 to 15 years and ensure we receive the funding at the state level to implement it. This plan should embrace economic opportunity and private investment, which will lead to more jobs without overwhelming our current infrastructure or raising taxes,” Cox added. “Less is more. Less government. More freedom.”
As a parent, coach, and certified teacher, Cox understands the challenges faced by teachers and parents. He will make sure all stakeholders – parents, teachers, school administrators, and legislators – are communicating effectively, and, as a result, give parents more input and choices in their children’s education. Cox will also prioritize police and first responder funding to make sure they have all the resources they need.
Cox concluded, “As a coach and small businessman, I have learned that sometimes you need to take a different path to be successful. That is why I decided to run for this seat: because I know it takes hard work, dedication, and effective planning to make a difference. As your next State Representative, I’ll use a conservative and business-minded approach to deliver real results for Forsyth and Hall counties.”
